Title 1: Design and fabrication of a prototype loose fruit collection device for palm oil plantation

•In the current harvesting process of palm fruits often leads to loose fruits scattered on the ground from the fruit bunch.
•Loose fruit contain 40% oil. Poor collection of loose fruit due to the tedious work is therefore often the underlying cause of a low oil extraction rate among oil plantation in South east asia.
•Project Expectation:
–A device that could improve the collection of loose fruits from the group efficiently
–As to motivate small holders to collect loose fruits the cost of the device should be less than RM 2000
–Other requirements from the user and plantation environment must be observed
